Glyndŵr University Research Study on Compassion and Social Prescribing

02 November 2022

Social Prescribers are invited to take part in a research study on compassion and social prescribing.

What is the research study?

Researchers at Wrexham Glyndŵr University are looking to develop a workshop on compassion for health and wellbeing sector staff whose job role involves social prescribing, and we would like to know more about compassion and social prescribing in order to ensure the training is suitably tailored to meet the needs of those working within this role. The workshop developed will seek to provide social prescribers with strategies they can use to protect and enhance their own wellbeing, while also responding compassionately to the people they are working with.

What would taking part involve?

Your participation in the research would involve undertaking and informal ‘interview’ with a member of the research team, which would explore your views and experiences of compassion and social prescribing. The interview would be arranged for a date and time to suit you, and take place online via Microsoft Teams. It would last approximately 45 minutes and be audio recorded so that the information could be analysed for the research.

How do I get involved or find out more?

If your job role involves social prescribing and taking part in this research sounds like something you may be interested in, please email the principal researcher, Sharon Wheeler (Sharon.Wheeler@glyndwr.ac.uk), who will send you further details about the research and answer any queries you might have.

Thank you for reading this.

All good wishes,

The Research Team.
